The Commonwealth Year of Youth Project: What to Expect

The Youth Mainstreaming Training Programme aims to enhance stakeholder capacity in response to the commitment made by Commonwealth Heads of Government. The goal is to ensure that the voices, rights, capabilities, and needs of young people are considered and prioritized in policy and decision-making across governments and development institutions.

This initiative is a key component of the Commonwealth's flagship Year of Youth, which stems from a mandate by Commonwealth Heads of Government following their meeting in Kigali, Rwanda, in June 2022. During this gathering, Heads declared their focus on empowering young individuals, stakeholders, and governments to expedite progress on youth-oriented issues throughout 2023.
